Ezderm is a cloud-based EHR and practice management system built specifically for dermatology. Unlike general-purpose EHRs that serve multiple specialties, Ezderm focuses entirely on dermatology, meaning every feature, template, and workflow was designed with skin-specific clinical needs in mind.

Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Srdjan Prodanovich founded Ezderm in 2006 after growing frustrated with generic EHRs that slowed down his clinic. He still practises dermatology in Naples, Florida, where Ezderm is also headquartered.

The integrated suite covers charting, practice management, billing, revenue cycle management, payments, patient engagement, and a patient portal.

Eve (Ezderm's AI layer launched at the AAD Annual Meeting in early 2026) adds automated billing workflows and documentation assistance.

Who uses Ezderm?

Ezderm suits dermatology practices of any size: solo practitioners, group practices, multi-location clinics, and surgical dermatologists. It accommodates general dermatology, cosmetic and aesthetic practices, Mohs micrographic surgery, and practices that manage high volumes of isotretinoin patients or biopsies.

One important hardware note: Ezderm runs on iPad and Mac only. If your clinic uses Windows PCs or Android tablets, Ezderm is not compatible without a significant hardware investment. This is a genuine constraint that some practices discover too late, so it's worth settling upfront.

Core offerings

  • ezEHR handles clinical charting. Its centrepiece is a patent-pending 3D Anatomical Body Map with more than 3,000 anatomical locations. Rather than entering free-text descriptions, providers tap a location directly on the model to document lesions, biopsies, procedures, and surgical maps.
  • ezPM covers scheduling, appointment management, check-in kiosks, and front-office workflows. The iPad check-in app lets patients update their own demographic information, medical history, and pharmacy preferences, which feeds directly into the EHR without staff re-entering data.
  • ezRCM is Ezderm's revenue cycle management service. It includes real-time eligibility verification, automated coding support with dermatology-specific ICD-10 and CPT recommendations, and claim scrubbing before submission.

  • ezPay handles integrated payment processing with secure, HIPAA-compliant transactions.

  • ezengage covers patient communication: automated appointment reminders via SMS and email, recall campaigns, and two-way messaging. The platform includes pharmacy geolocation so patients can find nearby pharmacies after a visit.

  • ezPortal gives patients self-service access to their records, appointment scheduling, and digital intake forms.

  • ezSwitch is a dedicated migration service for practices moving from another EHR. Ezderm provides data transfer support, which addresses one of the more common anxieties around switching systems.

Specialty-specific features

  • As mentioned above, Mohs surgery support includes pathology specimen tracking and automated surgical map generation.
  • Isotretinoin management includes built-in compliance tracking, which reduces the administrative burden on practices managing iPLEDGE requirements.
  • The cosmetics module tracks injectables and aesthetic products in real time, deducting inventory automatically after a session is documented. It also handles cash-pay cosmetic services and insurance-based medical claims within the same billing ledger.
  • Biopsy logs allow surgical dermatologists to track specimen information, follow-up requirements, and pathology results in one place.
  • MIPS/MACRA compliance tracking automates quality measure reporting, so practices participating in Medicare's value-based payment programmes don't have to manage reporting manually.
